Atty. Christine O. De Guzman was admitted to the Integrated Bar of the Philippines in 2012 and joined the Firm in September 2013. She was a former associate of a leading Law Office in Ortigas of the former Senator Chiz Escudero. She graduated BS Management (Major in Legal Management) from The Ateneo de Manila University and completed her Juris Doctor from The Ateneo Law School as full-time working student and a Manila Bay Scholar.
She has completed a seminar lecture for Chartered Trust and Estate Planner Program, which is an International Certification Course focused on Estate and Trust Planning in Philippine context which forms a very important subset of Personal Finance, Financial Planning, Wealth Planning, or Wealth Management.
She has a double-certification for Lean Six Sigma White Belt (CLSSWB) and Yellow Belt (CLSSYB) from RK Organizational Excellence Institute (ROI) and from MF Operational Excellence (MF Opex), both duly accredited training and testing providers by the Council for Six Sigma Certification (CSSC). She has also recently acquired her Green Belt (CLSSGB) certification and is currently working on her Black Belt (CLSSBB) certification.
She has handled various and major cases in the billion-peso category and has served as a legal consultant to various prominent individuals in their Firm. Christine maintains a diverse legal practice, handling litigation practice in both civil and criminal matters, while also maintaining a good specialization in corporate and tax matters. She has appeared before first and second level courts, as well as various quasi-judicial agencies, and has handled various cases all the way to the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court, with such a high batting average in all cases she has handled. Her work includes case strategy, drafting and review of pleadings, court hearing or appearances, and client advisory on litigation risks and remedies.
She also specializes in corporate and tax matters, with experience in handling cases before the Court of Tax Appeals and other quasi-judicial and administrative bodies (i.e. Insurance Commission, et. al.). She has acted as counsel in disputes involving national internal revenue taxes, as well as in advisory work in tax, compliance, corporate transactions, and regulatory requirements for businesses. Her practice includes representing clients in assessments and other tax controversies, and assisting them with contract review, regulatory due diligence, and day-to-day legal support. She has also assisted clients in due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, investments, and corporate restructuring, supporting clients in making informed decisions and structuring transactions with a clear understanding of legal and regulatory implications
She is now a Junior Partner of the Firm and is helping to train, supervise, and breed new generations of excellent lawyers.
