Professional Biography
Atty. Mendoza, the Founding and Managing Partner. A lawyer and Certified Public Accountant with more than thirty-five (35) years of corporate, tax, estate-planning, and litigation experience, Mr. Mendoza is also a Certified Management Accountant (Australia and New Zealand), Registered Financial Planner, and Chartered Trust and Estate Planner. He is the author of “Happier Heirs: Guide to Successful Estate Planning,” published by Central Law Book Supply, with a substantially expanded second revised edition scheduled for publication in 2026. His combination of law, accounting, taxation, financial planning, trusts, and litigation is particularly suited to family wealth and succession engagements in which legal and tax consequences must be evaluated together.
Mr. Mendoza has designed estate and succession structures for local and international clients, including family constitutions and arrangements involving trusts, corporate vehicles, property transfers, and tax planning. He has written and lectured on taxation and estate planning for business, banking, insurance, and professional audiences; has appeared as a resource person on taxation and estate planning; and has been invited as a resource person in connection with tax reform. His practice also includes sensitive corporate matters, tax controversies, and complex litigation.
His litigation and appellate experience includes matters before the Supreme Court across property, civil, corporate, family, and commercial law, including Leonor v. Court of Appeals, G.R. No. 112597; Situs Development Corporation v. Asiatrust, G.R. No. 180036; Guaranteed Homes, Inc. v. Heirs of Maria P. Valdez, G.R. No. 171531; Medical Plaza Makati Condominium Corp. v. Cullen, G.R. No. 181416; Ang v. De Venecia, G.R. No. 217151; Provincial Government of Bataan v. Escalada, G.R. No. 181311; and Rodriguez v. Pastorfide, G.R. No. 256648. This litigation background is relevant to estate planning because durable structures must be designed with enforceability and potential future disputes in mind.
Mr. Mendoza earned his Bachelor of Laws from the University of the Philippines College of Law (Class of 1989), postgraduate degrees from the University of the Philippines Diliman including a Master’s Degree in Industrial and Labor Relations, and completed the academic requirements for a PhD at UP Diliman. He earned his BS Business Administration, major in Accounting, from the University of the East.
